Trovus are starting to run a series of Guest Blogs where our Partners and clients share their thoughts and experiences around Trovus and how our approach is helping companies generate a higher return on their sales and marketing investments. To kick us off, Fanni Vig, the Head of Business Development at Intendance has written this blog...Just Watch and Tag.
Just watch... and tag...
4 years ago, when I started introducing various analytics systems to our clients they loved the idea of knowing how many people were visiting their website... they could literally see the thousands of visitors picking up the phone, asking for their services... and when it didn't happen... they were utterly disappointed.... It was not unusual either for them to blame the agencies for not being able to deliver ROI.
Questions like... "but who are those people???" ... "I don't care about the numbers... I want to know which companies are checking the website" were common.
Consequently, something came to our rescue when two years later.... thanks to companies like Trovus... IP identification turned out to be possible! Not only you can see which companies are visiting your website, but you can set up automatic alerts.
This software creates a very powerful bridge between marketing and sales. Coming from a financial background, I am a great believer of being able to justify marketing spend. Arguably, the website is today's most powerful marketing tool and knowing who is on your website not only means the end of the era of working on assumptions (the nightmare of any businessman) but it directly creates business opportunities.
If we all agree that the people visiting your website have a good reason for being there, then with software like Dashboard, all you need is to "watch and tag".... For all salespeople, the expression of "searching for a needle in a haystack" should clearly be a thing of the past.
For digital communication agencies like ours, it allows us to work smarter and focus on the real crucial part of our work, which is to make sure that the website is visible and attracts the right type of audiences.
