Just back from a weeks break in France (near St Malo in a place called St Jacut de la Mer if anyone is interested). Great trip back on Brittany Ferries who had the England/ France match on board in a very busy bar complete with French TV crew. What advice do you give on setting up blogs/wikis?

The question is large, probably too large for a short answer here, especially as they are quite different things.  However, taking the question literally here are our thoughts on setting these things up.BLOGS1) Be clear on what you are going to blog about if you are using the tool as an external facing communications platform.2) Be clear on the reasons for introducing blogging to your company if you are using it as a internal communications platform.3) Decide on the platform that is right for you. If you are looking at it as an external communications tool, why not consider the "free platforms"...


Backfiring blogs

Last week there was a story about Glen o'Glaza's post on the Adam Boulton Sky News blog.  In the post he complains about the conditions for journalists during their trip with Gordon Brown to Iraq.  There seems to have been quite a backlash to his complaints, many comparing his conditions with those endured by the soldiers on the ground.  There are two points to make here: Sky have done the right thing by keeping the posting up after the negative publicity.  To take the post down after it had been reported in the press would have been a mistake, as people searching...
