Trovus Project Goes Live

We are three days into a new project going live for Logicalis and all seems to be going well - the site is at http://www.theitsanctuary.com/ and we have received several hundred unique visitors in those first few days. Delighted to hear that our sponsor within Logicalis has won an EMEA wide marketing award from HP - part of which we are told is due to the IT Sanctuary. Naturally, we are all delighted with this.What do you think of the site - we would love to hear your views.

Web advertising revenue soars

£2bn - thats how much much was spent last year on online advertising according to the Advertising Association (quoted in the Times - Monday May 21st).That represents a 47.5% year on year increase for online advertising. Contrast that with Television advertising that fell by 4.7% year on year.The insight behind this: the time people spend online keeps going up each year, so advertisers follow their audiences online.It always amazes me to think that say 10/15 years ago, the commercial internet didnt exist and people would spend several hours a day watching TV; the shift in behaviours that we are seeing now is huge...

I recently attended a closed door seminar, the SpeakEasy 2007 run by Buy.at, one of the UK's leading affiliate networks founded by Steve Brown (a fellow ex KPMG'er).Of all the presentations and conversations, I took away three insights from the day which I wanted to share:1) the retail value of the UK affiliate industry has grown from £600m in 2004 to £2.15bn in 2006; the value of the commissions paid has increased from £46m to £122m over the same period;2) talking to one of the internet marketing team from of one supermarket chains shared with me that they had grown their online...
