£2bn - thats how much much was spent last year on online advertising according to the Advertising Association (quoted in the Times - Monday May 21st).

That represents a 47.5% year on year increase for online advertising. Contrast that with Television advertising that fell by 4.7% year on year.

The insight behind this: the time people spend online keeps going up each year, so advertisers follow their audiences online.

It always amazes me to think that say 10/15 years ago, the commercial internet didnt exist and people would spend several hours a day watching TV; the shift in behaviours that we are seeing now is huge in now people spend their time on the internet.

After my introduction to the web world with online social networking and creating different online dating agency offerings some 6 years ago, the web has just been changing so fast and so much, I still find the potential and opportunity staggering.
