How did you get where you are today?

I did a degree in Economics and Accounting at Southampton University, before training as a Chartered Accountant at Baker Tilly in London. After that, I worked at KPMG Corporate Finance for 5 years (interspersed with a sabbatical to sail round the world on the BT Global Challenge. From there, I founded and built several online social networks followed by a 10 month stint as Interim Finance Director at a software company. In December 2006, Ed and I co-founded Trovus.

What are you working on right now?

I'm working to develop the business - new customers, product development, managing clients, running the finances and starting to put the infrastructure in place.

Who or what has been the greatest influence on your career to date?

Chay Blyth - he once said to me...Caspar, when your time comes and you are looking down at your toes, and you ask your toes, have I done everything you want to in life. If the answer is no, you are going to be pretty brassed off. So, since then, work out what you want and go for it.

Who in business do you most admire - and why?

Difficult to single anyone out, but anyone who has the courage of their convictions to go for it.

What aspect of your job do you find the most satisfying?

Delivering value; doing work that genuinely adds value to a client.

What has been your most valuable lesson learnt?

Don't put things off - deal with them and get on with things.

Which are your favourite websites and blogs?

So many to choose from - probably Techcrunch - http://www.techcrunch.com/ and our blog here or course.

How do you spend your downtime? Where? With who?

Family and Friends. Never happier than when on the sea - sailing and fishing.

Tell us one thing that most people don't know about you...

I used to work as a Commercial fisherman and probably hold a record for having the smallest registered fishing vessel in UK waters - its 10 foot 6 inches and is registered in Dartmouth.
